Celebrate Free Fishing Day at Fischer Pond. Tucked into a city park, Fischer Pond provides good bank fishing in the early summer and fall. The pond is the cornerstone of this cooperative community effort, with a fish viewing aquarium, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, and picnic tables adjacent to the river walking trail.

Celebrate Free Fishing Day at Ol’McDonald Pond, in partnership with Council Lions Club. This small community pond in Council offers easy access next to Wilco Park, a stone's throw from the highway. It's a great place to practice casting and pick up a rainbow for dinner.

Part of the Star Police Rodeo event. The pond is located off West State Street in Star, Idaho. Parking is located at 960 Main Street. Do not park on the streets within the neighborhood.

Celebrate Free Fishing Day at Legacy Park Pond, a scenic feature of the 40-acre Legacy Park in Mountain Home, Idaho. Enjoy a day of fishing, surrounded by walking trails, picnic areas, and family-friendly amenities.

Located at 15456 N. Latah St.  This facility is the City’s “signature” park, encompasses 2.28 acres, and is characterized by generally level terrain, numerous coniferous and deciduous trees, ample grass, and Rathdrum Creek.

Hagerman Wildlife Management Area (WMA) provides a variety of fishing opportunities and open space to explore. Riley Pond, the Bass ponds, and Anderson ponds (1-4) are on the northwest side of the WMA, while Oster Lakes (1-5) are to the southeast via Hagerman National Hatchery Rd. West Highway Pond is across Hwy 30. Riley Pond is a relatively small and well-stocked trout fishery with lots of shoreline access, a fishing pier, and a fishing bridge. It's located right next to the Hagerman State Fish Hatchery, so be sure to visit the show pond to check out some neat fish. PLEASE NOTE: Riley Creek Pond and Oster Lake #1 offer ADA access piers. Fish and Game staff from Nampa office will be partnering with the Southwest Idaho Resource Conservation and Development Council and the City of Meridian for a Free Fishing Day event at Kleiner Pond in Meridian from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., which coincides with the City's celebration of Gene Kleiner Day.

Other activities at Kleiner Park on June 14 include the 42nd Annual Saturday in the Park Car Show, which kicks off at 10 a.m. If you really want to make a day of it, a free concert performed by the Meridian Symphony Orchestra in the Kleiner Park Band Shell begins 7:00 p.m.

The larger of the two fishing ponds, Filer Pond is located in the north-east portion of the property. Kids Pond is open to kids 12 and under and Filer Pond is open to anglers of any age. Both are open year-round. Filer Pond is not stocked in summer, but stocking resumes when water temperatures are suitable for rainbow trout. This pond has been stocked with largemouth bass and bluegill, but few anglers report harvesting these species.

Part of the Unplug and Be Outside event in Meridian. The pond is located in Settlers Park, north on Meridian Rd past Ustick Rd. This is a family-friendly water with ADA access and bathrooms.

This scenic pond is a high yield fishery that is stocked frequently, but it is known to get fished out quickly after stocking. We encourage harvest, but please harvest what you need and consider leaving a few for your fellow anglers.

This is a great place for kids to chase small perch. Ice fishing in particular, where kids can look down the hole and see a half-dozen fish compete for their bait, really holds their attention. In addition to yellow perch, tiger trout, and occasionally rainbow trout, are stocked here.

Soda Springs offers two Youth Fishing Ponds located at Kelly Park that are open April 1st to November 1st.

Riley Pond and Oster Lakes are open for fishing from March 1 – October 31. Riley Pond is a relatively small and well-stocked trout fishery with lots of shoreline access, a fishing pier, and a fishing bridge.

A scenic 400-acre reservoir on the Henrys Fork, Ashton Reservoir is known for rainbow trout and is also home to the state record brown trout. Fish from the fishing dock at the access site, from shore, or a watercraft.

Located off the Snake River Drainage, the Gem State Pond is found in Bingham County and is 8.7 acres. Bluegill and Largemouth Bass can be found here.

This little fishing spot is tucked into a scenic high desert canyon at 6500 feet in the hills east of Montpelier. Anglers can find stocked Rainbow Trout in the pond.

The Sawtooth Fish Hatchery is an anadromous fish hatchery located 5 miles south of Stanley, Idaho on Highway 75. Free Fishing Day event will be held at the Sawtooth Kids Pond located at the hatchery.

This small scenic pond next to Trail Creek is in the lush Teton Basin. One of the most consistent kids' fisheries in the area, it is easily fished from the bank, with trails and picnic tables around the perimeter.

Mann Lake in Nez Perce County is 136.3 acres.

Wilkins' Pond is located off Highway 95 approximately 5.5 miles south of Grangeville, on Lake Road in Idaho County is 2.5 acres.
