Filer Pond - Filer, ID

The larger of the two fishing ponds, Filer Pond is located in the north-east portion of the property. Kids Pond is open to kids 12 and under and Filer Pond is open to anglers of any age. Both are open year-round. Filer Pond is not stocked in summer, but stocking resumes when water temperatures are suitable for rainbow trout. This pond has been stocked with largemouth bass and bluegill, but few anglers report harvesting these species.

Hagerman WMA Riley Creek Pond - Kamiah, ID

Hagerman Wildlife Management Area (WMA) provides a variety of fishing opportunities and open space to explore. Riley Pond, the Bass ponds, and Anderson ponds (1-4) are on the northwest side of the WMA, while Oster Lakes (1-5) are to the southeast via Hagerman National Hatchery Rd. West Highway Pond is across Hwy 30. Riley Pond is a relatively small and well-stocked trout fishery with lots of shoreline access, a fishing pier, and a fishing bridge. It's located right next to the Hagerman State Fish Hatchery, so be sure to visit the show pond to check out some neat fish. PLEASE NOTE: Riley Creek Pond and Oster Lake #1 offer ADA access piers. Fischer Pond - Cascade, ID

Celebrate Free Fishing Day at Fischer Pond. Tucked into a city park, Fischer Pond provides good bank fishing in the early summer and fall. The pond is the cornerstone of this cooperative community effort, with a fish viewing aquarium, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, and picnic tables adjacent to the river walking trail.

Hayspur Fish Hatchery - Carey, ID

The Hayspur Fish Hatchery is located on Loving Creek in Blaine County, about 30 miles south of Sun Valley.

To visit the hatchery, travel north on State Highway 75 from Twin Falls. When you reach the intersection with U.S. Highway 20 turn right or go east. Go east on U.S. Highway 20 for about 7 miles and turn left, north, into the entrance of Hayspur Hatchery. Travel up the road three-fourths of a mile to the hatchery.

Kleiner Pond - Meridian, ID

Within Julius M Kleiner Memorial Park, there is a large fishing platform and plenty of shoreline access. This is a family-friendly water with paved paths and full-feature city park activities.

Jim Moore Pond - Roberts, ID

This is a great place for kids to chase small perch. Ice fishing in particular, where kids can look down the hole and see a half-dozen fish compete for their bait, really holds their attention. In addition to yellow perch, tiger trout, and occasionally rainbow trout, are stocked here.

Gavers Lagoon - Picabo, ID

Located at the Hayspur Hatchery, this scenic pond is a high-yield fishery that is stocked frequently, but it is known to get fished out quickly after stocking. We encourage harvest, but please harvest what you need and consider leaving a few for your fellow anglers.

Spring Valley Reservoir - Troy, ID

Surrounded by rolling hills and trees, Spring Valley Reservoir's fishing opportunities are favored by local anglers as trout are stocked heavily spring and fall. A maintained trail surrounds the reservoir and fishing docks and platforms increase shoreline access. Amenities include a picnic shelter, swimming beach, benches, picnic tables, handicap fishing access, and a developed boat ramp, but gas motors are not allowed. This is Stop 35 on the Idaho Birding Trail.

The event is part of Latah County Environmental days.

Rathdrum City Park - Rathdrum, ID

Located at 15456 N. Latah St.  This facility is the City’s “signature” park, encompasses 2.28 acres, and is characterized by generally level terrain, numerous coniferous and deciduous trees, ample grass, and Rathdrum Creek. 500 rainbow trout will be stocked prior to the event.

The Free Fishing Day event is co-hosted with City of Rathdrum's Parks and Recreation.

Deyo Reservoir - Weippe, ID

Nestled amid farms and timber, beautiful Deyo Reservoir provides a great family fishing experience. A maintained trail surrounding the entire reservoir features seven fishing docks and two large fishing peninsulas, making it easy to find a good place to fish. There is also a developed boat ramp, picnic shelter, swimming beach, benches, and two handicap-accessible docks. Rainbow trout are stocked heavily spring through fall.
